TRIANGLE CHOKER JADE
TRIANGLE CHOKER JADE
The chokers are works of art requiring over five hours of passionate attention to detail by our artisan Andrea Carrillo Baptista, and are inspired by a spiritual object known as The Eye of God or Sikuli. Used for protection, power and health, the Sikuli has the power to perceive the unknown, beyond what is physically visible.
The four points and center of the Sikuli echo the sacred geography of the Huichol, shown by the rhombus on the map. They view the world as having five regions, corresponding to five mothers, one under the earth and the other four at cardinal points: from the western port of San Blas in Nayarit; to Lake Chapala in southern Jalisco; to the eastern mountain in Real de Catorce, San Luis Potosí; to the northern Cerro Gordo, in Durango; and in the center of the sacred universe, Teakata, in Santa Catarina Cuexcomatitlan, Jalisco.
